Slow Food Rochester is the local chapter for the Greater Rochester area of Slow Food USA, a non-profit, membership supported organization committed to reviving food Slow Food is in contrast to fast food. It is about making food choices that
  • are healthy and delicious
  • are produced in a sustainable manner
  • supports local small farmers and farm workers
  • preserves regional food traditions
  • promotes diversity in our food options
  • are available to all at a reasonable cost

Slow Food Rochester aims to produce a dramatic and lasting change to the regional food system to ensure food equity, health and enjoyment! We focus on
  • making local food more accessible, connecting consumers to our diverse and sustainable regional producers and distributors of foods.
  • increasing public awareness of the economic, political and environmental impact of Slow Food
  • partnering with local and national activists and organizations working for change in our food system
  • sponsoring fun and educational events that build community around food
